Ingredients:

  • Green Beans (drained)

    2 cans
  • Tomato Sauce

    1 can
  • Garlic

    1 clove
  • Crushed Red Peppers

    to taste
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    1 tbsp
  • Salt

    to taste
  • Black Pepper

    to taste
  • Thyme

  • Sage

Cooking Directions:

Finely chop the garlic. Drain the green beans.

In a large pan, heat the olive oil and saute on high flame garlic and green beans for 1-2 minutes, stirring continuously.

Sprinkle with crushed red peppers to taste.

Add the tomato sauce and mix well. Let cook for about 10-15 minutes, to reduce the sauce. Stir from time to time.

Adjust with salt and pepper.

Just before serving, add fresh thyme and sage. Serve hot.


Tips:

If you use fresh green beans, snap the tips and remove the strings. Cut them in pieces if too big. Wash them briefly and cook them in rolling boiling water for about 2-3 minutes. They are done when cooked but still slightly crunchy. Drain well and use them as described in this recipe.
